  Sant Ravidas was born in the year 1450 Sunday in a Cobbler family, at village Mandua near Banaras. He was also known by the names of Raidas, Rohidas, Rududas etc. Rahan was his father and mother’s name was Karmadevi. Sant Ravidas was married to Bhagwati. Sant Ravidas used to help his father in making footwear from childhood. One day Sant Ravidas was going with his friends when one upper caste person shouted out at them and said that you are untouchables and why didn’t you call out to say that you are passing this way. Everybody stood silently but after some time Sant Ravidas said to him, “We announced our arrival but why you didn’t?” The upper caste person did not like the behavior of Sant Ravidas.

  The friends of Sant Ravidas told him , “We are from lower caste and do not expect the upper caste people to respect us.”, Sant Ravidas said, “ If people hate us so much then why do we sit quietly and bear such humiliation.” His friends pacified him and told him that they had the same feelings. Sant Ravidas worried that how long they might suffer such humiliation and started thinking about this incidence. One day, Sant Ravidas met with Sanyasi (monk). Sant Ravidas asked him that he wanted to know about himself and the Almighty who created him and others. The Sanyasi replied that the day you come to understand who you are, you will know the Almighty. After this, Sant Ravidas started his penance and when he got the knowledge, he accepted his parents and his wife as his Guru.

  They told him that the Almighty exists in all the things. If you see God in only the idols and in no other place, then the Idol is staying between you and the Almighty. Limiting it to any name such as Jesus, Allah, and Rab is a big mistake. In a short span, the followers of Sant Ravidas spread far and wide .People from distant location came to meet him and seek his blessings. He preached that one should not be ashamed of the caste one belongs to. He advised to continue work with sincerity and do not bow down before anyone other than the Almighty. His teachings and preaching helped the weak and the downtrodden to live with respect and courage.

  Due to his great work & efforts, many other Saints such as Sant Kabir, Sant Meerabai, Sant Sena etc came to meet him. He was highly revered by the many kings such as the king of Kashi, Raja Hardev Singh and king of Delhi, Sikandar Lodhi. Sant Ravidas was Guru of many people such as Sant Meerabai, wife of Prince Bhojraj, the son of Ranasingh of Chittor & the Jodhpur royal family. Sant Ravidas is highly respected and many references can be found in the literatures.

  Sant Ravidas said that the caste or color distinctions, division based on wealth status, religion classification and worldly ills should be abolished. He advised his disciples to create a society without caste/creed and to renounce worldly pleasures. He stressed upon culture, character and the Karmas .He was against imposter and frauds. He expired at a ripe old age of 90 in the year 1540. A. D.

  Rajasthan is famous for Courage and Bravery. Almost 60 % of the war’s occurred in this region. Ironically, in this land of war, MEERABAI,was born in approx 1498 to teach love for Lord Krishna. There is hardly anybody who does-not know the name of MEERABAI. She was one of the greatest devotees of Lord Krishna. MEERABAI’s father was the King of Medeta.

  In her childhood, her mother told her casually that Lord Krishna was her husband. But, Meera took this very seriously and she devoted her entire life to Lord Krishna. During her youth also, she did not stop considering Lord Krishna as her husband. All her dreams started and ended around Lord Krishna only. Along with the passage of time, Meeras’s love and devotion towards Lord Krishna increased more and more. In 1519, Meera was married to Bhojraj, the King of Mewad. He had all due affection and respect towards Meera but her heart was filled with devotion towards Lord Krishna only.

  She could not stop worshipping Lord Krishna even after marriage. She used to consider Lord Krishna as her husband and always sung Lord Krishna’s Bhajans as a Sanyasini. How could her husband accept that his Queen was spending her life as Sanyasini. He started making plans for murdering her. But Meera’s devotion and love towards Lord Krishna was so dedicated and stable that even poison turned into nectar. Meera thus devoted her whole life to Lord Krishna.

She said :

मेरे तो गिरधर गोपाल दूसरों न कोई|
जाके सिर मोर मुकट मेरो पति सोई||

तात मात भ्रात बंधु आपनो न कोई|
छाड़ि दई कुलकि कानि कहा करिहै कोई||

  Lord Krishna is everything to me. My mother, father, brothers is not mine but Lord Krishna is my family. Meera says that without GURU or Spiritual teacher, devotion cannot be made. A devoted person can only lead you to God and he is a true GURU. From Meera’s Bhajan’s, it is understood that RAVIDAS was her Spiritual Teacher. Inspite of the fact that Ravidas was of lower caste, Meera followed him and other Saints. There are differences in the dates about the death of Meerabai. It is claimed she died in the years 1546, 1547, 1548.

  According to Herman Goetez, Meerabai disappeared during her tour of North India after Dwarka.   She spread the message of love and devotion towards Lord Krishna in India. The Kings of Chittor were busy enjoying their power and wealth and they hardly remembered Meerabai and they did not even search for her. Meerabai got lost completely in the worship of Lord Krishna. Meerabai taught the world the true power of spiritual love towards Lord Krishna to such an extent that all other methods of devotion appeared powerless.

MEERABAI’S LITERATURE.:

• Meerabai wrote lot of devotional songs called Bhajans. They imparted a very high level if spiritual experience. The songs reflected her own spiritual progress and experiences.
• Meera used different languages in her literature such as Hindi, Gujrati, Brij, Avadhi, Bhojpuri, Arabic, Marwari, Farsi, Maithili, Punjabi and Sanskrit.
• Meerabai was a unique poetess who showed profound devotion and extreme sacrifice towards God in her songs.

  In 1918, Shree Appaji More was married to Akhand Saubhagyalakshmi Chandrabhagatai. The couple were blessed with their first child, a daughter. Later, when Sau. Chandrabhagatai prayed to their Kuldaivat, the family god Shree Khandoba of Ratangad, village Dindori for a son, they were blessed on May 21, 1924 with a child whom we today rever as Sadguru Moredada. Sevekaris may note that Swami Maharaj entered Akkalkot (Mah) by first visiting a Khandoba temple. After leaving that body, Swami began His divine work through Sadguru Moredada and now His Holiness Gurumauli.

  Akkalkot, where Swami Maharaj spent 22 years, was earlier known as Pradnyapur literally meaning the centre of supreme intelligence of knowledge which can be identified with the Sahasrar Chakra at the back of the head where supreme divine consciousness resides. To realize Swami Maharaj one has to travel to Akkalkot meaning the journey for the realisation of the self (Adhyatma) and  the Supreme (Parmaarth) through regular and constant chanting of the mantra Shree Swami Samarth and readings of Swami’s biographical verse,  Shree Swami Charitra Saramrit.

  During his 22-year stay at Akkakot, Swami Maharaj created several accomplished sages (Siddhas) and preceptors (Gurus) and sent them to different parts of the country to help the poor and the needy, the helpless and the miserable. Some of them are Shree Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon, Shree Sainath of Shirdi, Shree Anandnath Maharaj, Shree Dev Mamledar of Nasik, Shree Shankar Maharaj of Pune, Shree Manikprabhu of Humnabad, Karnataka, among others. Among those whom Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj chose to further His vision of the idea of India was Sadguru Narayandasji Pithle Maharaj who mentored Sadguru Moredada.

  Swami Maharaj gave diksha, spiritual initiation for carrying forward the spiritual lineation, to Sadguru Pithle Maharaj at Narsobachi Waadi, a holy shrine created by Him while in Shree Nrisinh Saraswati form. Waadi is 22 km from Sangli in western Maharashtra and 45 km from Kolhapur, the seat of Goddess Mahalakshmi. Swami Maharaj got Sadguru Pithle Maharaj to conduct rigorous penance in the Himalayas for 12 years and then for 36 years on the banks of river Godavari at Trimbakeshwar.

  For the next 22 years Sadguru Pithle Maharaj continued carrying out the vision of Swami Maharaj through a small temple near the Pethe High School in the Raviwar Peth Karanja area of Nasik. Bhagvan Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj had conveyed to Sadguru Pithle Maharaj that He is grooming Him to create a disciple who will guide people, society, nation & the entire world in a unique way. This was the time, Sadguru Moredada was mystically directed to go to Sadguru Pithle Maharaj to get enlightened. In fact, Sadguru Moredada had been an ardent devotee of Bhagvan Shree Shriram. However, Bhagvan Shriram appeared to Him in vision and confirmed that He should go to Sadguru Pithle Maharaj and be ready for future course of action.

  The divine mission was to spread Swami Seva since Kaliyuga’s principal deity is Swami Maharaj who has earlier appeared as Bhagvan Shree Shriram, Shree Krishna, Shree Pandurang, Shree Venkatesha, as part of His MahaVishnu incarnations. After Sadguru Pithle Maharaj left His mortal coil, Sadguru Moredada brought the Swami Darbar to His farm at Dindori and initiated Swami Seva from there. It has since been known as the Dindori Darbar. The way these events took place only affirmed that Swami Maharaj had again changed shape and form to carry out His vision of reviving religion and helping the poor the hapless and the downtrodden.

  From 1974, the year Sadguru Pithle Maharaj left body, Sadguru Moredada continued helping lakhs of distraught people who came to Him for recourse by prescribing them simple and easy-to-do Swami Seva. Like Swami Maharaj Himself did while at Akkalkot, Sadguru Moredada also created several dedicated sevekaris in this spiritual fold from different parts of Maharashtra. In this way, hundreds of Dindori Pranit Shree Swami Samarth Seva Centres were started to help others down the chain. A huge spiritual network was mystically built as per the vision of Swami Maharaj Himself. With the help of ordinary sevekaris, many of whom were from the lowest rung of society, Sadguru Moredada conducted various Vedic rituals with a message for peace and prosperity, for unity and integrity in this country.

  These included thousands of chantings of the Rudra Namakams and Chamakams, the Saptashati Chandi Path of Goddess Durga and lakhs of Swami Charitra Saramrit readings at Dindori and Trimbakeshwar and other centres. Thousands of sevekaris participated in these and have been taking part in various activities since then. Sadguru Moredada also got sevekaris to start collective programmes for the benefit of the poor and then for the nation as a whole. Lakhs of sevekaris who are part of this Seva Marg and work voluntarily for it today are a living testimony to this.

  Sadguru Moredada toiled through the length and breadth of Maharashtra to spread Swami Seva always with His own money and often without a proper mode of transport. Sadguru Moredada accomplished this monumental task even as He continued to be an ordinary farmer in His fields. Only Bhagvan Dattatreya, the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, can rid mankind of its sufferings, something that which the Dindori Pranit Seva Marg has been doing for the past several decades.  And without the rigorous penance and the blessings of the Sadguru this is a task impossible to achieve.

  On Vaishakh Shuddha 12, Shaka 1910 (May 21, 1988), Sadguru Moredada left His body minutes after handing over the spiritual lineation to His Holiness Gurumauli Shree Shriram alias Annasaheb More, the eldest son. Sadguru Moredada’s Samadhi Mandir is part of the Dindori Durbar premises in the form of a snow-white Shivlingam. Sadguru Moredada also adorns the central hall of Shree Gurupeeth as part of the AshtaSiddha Mahashaktipeeth.

  Whenever divinity has appeared on earth, it has simplified the path of truth and contentment for the sake of the commonfolk. None including the most revered and popular forms of Bhagvan Shree Shriram, who was born on Chaitra Shuddha Navami and Bhagvan Shree Krishna, who was born to parents Shree Vasudevji and Mata Devki on Shravan Krishna Ashtami, have been exception to this.

  An important aspect of their incarnation is also that they never declared that they were indeed one! One was content leading the Kapi Sena in the battle over evil, the other was happy with the Gop Sena for the same purpose. In their various incarnations in the Kaliyuga though the battle remained the same but the evils were largely within and man-made. Hence in Kaliyuga, Bhagvan Mahavishnu as Bhagvan Dattatreya changed forms but took to healing people, their miseries by way of spiritual counseling. It began when Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj appeared as an eight-year-old child at Kurukshetra in 1149 and continued during His later incarnations as Shree Shreepad Shree Vallabh and also as Shree Nrisinh Saraswati.

  Since the same Guru Tatva continues in the Dindori Pranit Seva Marg that was established by Swami Maharaj Himself, it is no surprise that His Holiness Gurumauli is no exception to this divine experience. His Holiness Gurumauli was born as Shree Shriram Khanderao More on March 20,1955 on the day of Papmochani Ekadashi, Phalgun Krishna Paksha Shaka 1877. Workshipping Bhagvan Vishnu (that is Swami Maharaj) on this day cleanses you of all vices and takes you ahead onto the spiritual path through material contentment. The day Sadguru Moredada left His mortal coil in 1988, He handed over the spiritual lineage of the Dindori Pranit Shree Swami Samarth Seva Marg to His Holiness Gurumauli.

  Soon, His Holiness Gurumauli carved out a grand vision of constructing a mega-university in the form of the Akhil Bharatiya Shree Swami Samarth Gurupeeth at Trimbakeshwar to solve the problems of the needy the world over. His Holiness Gurumauli oversaw the completion of this grand and magnificent Shree Gurupeeth, the seat of high spiritual learning and empowerment. The mystic part of this project is that while Bhagvan Brahma and Bhagvan Mahesh are already installed at Trimbakeshwar in the form of the Brahmagiri mountain and the Jyotirling Mahadev, it was only after the efforts of His Holiness Gurumauli that Bhagvan Maha Vishnu got installed here in the form of Swami Maharaj!

  His Holiness Gurumauli’s vision is to imbibe training in the 14 Vedic knowledge streams (vidya ) and 64 skills (kala) to the spiritual seekers here as also to conduct research and spread awareness about 108 different types of Vedic streams of knowledge that include Self-employment, Community Mass Marriages, Women Empowerment, Ayurveda, eco-friendly housing, Organic farming, etc to name a few. Under the spiritual guidance and leadership of His Holiness Gurumauli, the number of Dindori Pranit Shree Swami  Samarth Seva Centres have gone over 5000 including those in Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka as those in Nairobi, Holland and California.  Almost every district of Maharashtra today has a Swami Seva Centre to help people.

  On the fourth Saturday of every month, His Holiness Gurumauli holds a Satsang of representatives of all centres at Shree Gurupeeth, Trimbakeshwar to take note of the social programmes executed and guides them for the next ones. Although, volunteers of all age groups are active participants, women and youth form its  core. In a lighter vein, His Holiness Gurumauli, who says, all those from the age of 5-45 years are youth, often states that the Seva Marg has not 50 but 100% reservation for women considering their selfless and voluntary contribution of work for the society!

  For the past 40 years,  His Holiness Gurumauli has been striving to better the lives of  the last of the lowest in the social strata, empowering them with knowledge and training, making them self-reliant and, in the process, carving out a strong village and agrarian economy that exists through the united colours of communal peace and harmony. The result of this education and training: Several lakhs of people have rid themselves of alcohol and abuse, got good jobs or are happily self-employed, women are running small and medium-size businesses, farmers are using the traditional as well as modern techniques and tools of  agriculture resulting in more yield and so on…

  Sadguru Moredada had introduced ordinary and illiterate devotees to the benefits of Vedic rituals like Rudra Namakams and Chamakams, Devi Chandi Path, etc. His Holiness Gurumauli involved lakhs of sevekaris, especially women, into over one crore readings of the Chandi Path giving out a a message of women empowerment and unity and integrity for social harmony. On May 21, 2007, several lakh sevekaris from all parts of the country converged at the feet of Goddess Saptashringi, Wani, Nasik, to participate in the congregation with an appeal for national peace and harmony.

  It is here that Sage Markandeya wrote the Saptashati, the 700 verses in Her praise describing her battle with and victory over the demons. Sevekaris completed one crore readings Shree Durga Satashati, one crore readings of Shree Swami Saramrit, the divine elixir of Swami’s sportive plays and 1.25 crore chantings of Maha Mrityunjay Mantra through all Swami Seva Centres, community halls , schools, colleges, etc. History shows that only Laksh Chandi or one lakh readings of Saptashati had ever been done, namely by Dharmraj Yudhishtra in the Dwapar Yug . Sevekaris are now completing 100 crore readings of Shree Saptashati and Shree Swami Charitra Saramrit once again praying for religious harmony, security and prosperity .

  His Holiness Gurumauli has undertaken the task of reviving true religion or virtuous action. Several such conventions have been held at Tuljapur, Mahur and Kolhapur, the seat of Goddess Amba Bhawani in Maharashtra, Pawagad in Gujarat, Sannati, Ganagapur and Kuravpur in Karnataka, Pithapur in Andhra Pradesh and so on. His Holiness Gurumauli shall address the next spiritual convention invoking peace and prosperity for the country at Shree Kshetra Tirupati on February 13, 2013 where lakhs of sevekaris shall urge Bhagvan Venkatesha for the same.
